A 90-tonne mobile crane at a grain elevator in the Port of Constanța

The job took place at a grain terminal at berth 0 in the Port of Constanța. The mobile crane worked for one day at the elevator tower, with an operator, for a lift to the upper part of the structure.

The machine used was the Liebherr LTM 1090-4.1, a 90-tonne mobile crane. It was set up on four outriggers on the concrete apron between the silo and the equipment shed, and the telescopic boom was raised along the steel structure of the tower, up to the top level.

The space between the silo, the shed and the terminal access road limits where the crane can stand, and the load travels vertically, close to the structure. For a job like this what matters is working radius and control at height, not maximum capacity.
